A new role-mapping handbook is now available for Department of General Services (DGS) Contracted Fiscal Services (CFS) departments. The DGS-CFS Role Mapping Handbook gives detailed information on the roles that appear on the Division of FI$Cal Role Assignments (DOR) form. Note that not all the roles listed in this document will be available to every DGS-CFS department. Please refer to your department’s signed DOR form to identify what roles are available to your department.
Role mapping is the process of mapping end-users to the appropriate FI$Cal end-user roles required to complete their daily work activities in FI$Cal. This handbook is designed to assist CFS departments in completing role-mapping tasks and ongoing maintenance of role assignments. The handbook also helps departments understand the FI$Cal access that each role provides.
It is organized by business process (e.g., General Ledger, Budgeting, Accounts Payable, etc.) with each chapter giving an overview of the processes involved and ending with a list of roles associated with that business process, including its responsibilities and relationship with other roles where there are overlapping business processes.
You can find the DGS-CFS Role Mapping Handbook, along with other end user access resources, on the End User Access page on the FI$Cal website.
If you have any questions regarding this role mapping document, please contact the FI$Cal Access Management Unit at fiscal.iso@fiscal.ca.gov.
