INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST II

Under direction from the Information Technology Manager I, the Information Technology Specialist (ITS) II serves as a senior project manager within the Project Management Office (PMO). The PMO is a customer focused service organization that provides project management services to customers/partners to complete various types of information technology (IT) projects to achieve the strategic objectives of FI$Cal. Through efficient and effective application of project management processes, tools, and techniques, the PMO manages projects to deliver FI$Cal system releases and new IT products, services and systems. The incumbent is responsible for planning, executing, monitoring and controlling all activities for the assigned projects within the PMO, which include implementation of new IT products, services and systems and new releases of the FI$Cal system. The ITS II ensures that FI$Cal’s project management processes, tools and techniques, industry best practices and state processes including California Project Management Framework are consistently applied to all assigned projects.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER I

Under direction of the Staff Services Manager II, Business Services Section Chief, the Graphic Designer I will collaboratively work with all divisions throughout the Department of FISCal (FI$Cal) to develop electronic and print communication media using design software. The incumbent creates and produces materials and/or publications at a complex level for print, on-line publishing, multimedia, and other mediums. The incumbent will be responsible for the development and production of graphic design work for the FI$Cal.

ACCOUNTING ADMINISTRATOR I (SPECIALIST)

Under the general direction of the Accounting Administrator II, the Accounting Administrator I (Specialist) (AA I) in the General Ledger (GL) Unit will provide the necessary information and support to the departments required to transact in the FI$Cal system. The incumbent will coordinate with the State Controller’s Office to facilitate the closing of accounting modules for month-end close/year-end close (MEC/YEC) activities. The AA I plays an important role in the overall success of the FI$Cal system by providing customer support, researching and resolving system incidents, and performing as the subject matter expert (SME) for the accounting areas and modules of the system such as GL, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset management, project costing, grants, customer contracts and support change request processing. The AA I participates in teams and workgroups in related FI$Cal areas such as the Information Technology Division and other Business Operation and Solutions Division sections, including ad hoc process teams. The incumbent serves as a subject matter expert in the FI$Cal Service Center (FSC) with a working level knowledge of one or more business functional areas such as accounting, AM, GL and PC. The AA I will provide level 2 functional support and working knowledge of data processing concepts, practices & methods to departmental end-users regarding FI$Cal system incidents and service requests in the FSC. This includes timely incident communication and resolution of reported incident tickets by FI$Cal system users.
