The Accounting Administrator (AA) II is responsible for developing and implementing training and support strategies, plans, and tools to ensure the successful implementation and ongoing use of the FI$Cal system. The position will use knowledge of the FI$Cal system and an understanding of the state of California’s accounting processes, and knowledge of adult learning principles to effectively develop learning content and instructor-led training to best serve end-users. The AA II will work with other workgroups on delivery of instructor led training/virtual instructor led training courses and on updating job aids and other learning contents due to new enhancement and new functionalities or services.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGER I

As the Application Innovation Services Section (AISS) chief, you will provide leadership and technical guidance to IT professionals engaged in developing and maintaining services and applications within AISS. AISS focuses on enterprise-wide application development support, specifically analyzing, designing, and developing intricate customizations for FI$Cal’s applications. Collaborating closely with other divisions of the Department of FISCal, the AISS chief will oversee the analysis, design, development, implementation, debugging, documentation, and support of complex system reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms for FI$Cal’s accounting, procurement, and cash management functions. Motivating the AISS staff to deliver high-quality results for highly complex projects, the AISS chief ensures adherence to FI$Cal’s department and technology division’s vision, goals, and objectives. The Information Technology Specialist (ITS) II is a lead application support specialist who handles complex system reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and application security for the Department of FISCal’s Enterprise Resource Planning System. In this role, the ITS II acts as a technical expert and guides the application support team in troubleshooting and resolving production application issues. The incumbent also works with other subject matter experts (SMEs), such as functional SMEs, information security specialists, database administrators, and network and server administrators to support the application. The ITS II ensures technical and functional alignment with the department’s business and technology goals. They document new system functions, processes, and data within the FI$Cal Enterprise Resource Planning System. The incumbent also provides ongoing solutions for operational needs and ensures the system meets business objectives while staying current with the latest technology trends and best practices. The duties for this position are focused in the software engineering domain; however, work may be assigned in the other domains as needed.
