Under the general supervision of the Information Technology Manager I, or the Information Technology Supervisor I, the Information Technology Associate (ITA) provides technical expertise as part of the multidisciplinary Department of FISCal (FI$Cal) Service Center (FSC) support staff. The ITA is responsible for performing information technology and business functions necessary to support the 150 plus departments required to transact in the FI$CaI system. The ITA plays an important role in the overall success of FI$Cal by providing production system support. The ITA provides technical assistance and serves as a subject matter expert in the Customer Service and Analytics Section with a working level knowledge and understanding of accounting, state budgeting and financial management functions and processes, as well as statewide financial reporting functions. The ITA provides technical assistance and support to departmental end-users regarding the FI$Cal system tickets and also provides assistance to the public supporting bidders and suppliers accessing the FI$Cal Cal eProcure Portal. This includes participating in envisioning the end-to-end processes and applying a broad understanding of the mission critical responsibilities and major functions of the system.

The ITS I leads a wide variety of complex technical and analytical tasks relative to project risk management, issue management, scope management, change control, requirements, and configuration management. Under the general direction of the Accounting Administrator II, the Accounting Administrator I (Specialist) (AA I) in the General Ledger Unit will provide the necessary information and support to the departments required to transact in the FI$Cal system. The incumbent will coordinate with the State Controller’s Office to facilitate the closing of accounting modules for month-end close/ year-end close activities. Under the general supervision of the Accounting Administrator II in the FI$Cal Workforce Development Center (WDC), the Accounting Administrator I (Specialist) (AA I) serves as a subject matter expert (SME) in the development of job aids and other learning materials for FI$Cal users for the accounting modules, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger modules. The AA I will assist FI$Cal users in User Support Labs and will provide SME support department engagement activities as requested. The WDC will support internal and external users on accounting policies and procedures for transaction processing, accounting, financial reporting, and accounting controls. The incumbent will participate in and provide SME support to multidisciplinary teams and workgroups including ad hoc process teams for the support of FI$Cal users. The FI$Cal system represents a major change to the financial processes statewide and the incumbent is expected to have the broad knowledge, experience, and skill in accounting required to successfully oversee the significant workload responsibilities of this position. The incumbent is a participating member of the WDC that is responsible for the training and support of internal support staff and external FI$Cal users.
