The Department of FISCal announced on Friday the promotion of Jennifer Maguire to Chief Deputy Director. Maguire has served as FI$Cal’s Administrative Services Division’s deputy director for the past nine years. During her tenure, she has played key roles in driving and leading organizational change and administrative approaches. She led the administrative transition of FI$Cal from a project to a department, which included the development of all of FI$Cal’s policies and procedures. She also created the department’s accounting shop from whole cloth and most recently implemented the department’s telework program.

“Jennifer has frequently been recognized for her ability to lead with inquiry as well as advocacy. She is a truly engaged leader at all levels of the organization.” said FI$Cal Director Miriam Barcellona Ingenito.

Maguire brings a wealth of experience to her new role of providing strategic leadership to protect and sustain essential operational functions to carryout FI$Cal’s mission. She has a distinguished state career with more than 25 years of service, and has held positions of increased responsibility and complexity in administration. She served in three state departments, including the Department of General Services and the Department of Justice.

Maguire holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology with a concentration in Research Methodology from California State University, Sacramento. She loves spending time with her family, baking, and gardening.
