The Department of FISCal (FI$Cal) continually makes updates and enhancements to the system based on feedback from our end users. Our goal is to improve usability while maintaining the highest level of security for the state’s data.
FI$Cal released the following enhancements in December (descriptions include ServiceNow case numbers):
Purchasing
Request: CS0390265
Design build contracts needed to be identified at the contract and flow to the purchase order (PO).
Enhancement/Solution
Two solutions:
- The Contract page was modified to add a check box for design build contracts
- PO page was modified to add a message for PO’s associated with design build contracts.
Request: CS0426449
Non-standard configuration of a miscellaneous charge for tax rounding issues.
Enhancement/Solution
Configured a new miscellaneous charge for issues with tax rounding so that invoices will match the PO in FI$Cal.

Enhancement/Solution
Configured the miscellaneous charge for shipping charges.
Project Costing
Request: CS0383482
Request to create a new PeopleSoft (PS) query – ZZ_PC_ACCOUNTING_RULES.
Enhancement/Solution
Created a new PS query – ZZ_PC_ACCOUNTING_RULES to allow departments to view their current project costing (PC) accounting rules configuration and to validate the configurations after changes have been made to their PC accounting rules.
Billing
Request: CS0331376
Request was from the FI$CAL Power BI working group and represents the aggregate dashboard interests of 30 plus departments participating in the group. This request was one of four top priorities identified for information needs from the 2021 workgroup efforts and meetings. Currently, departments use multiple reports and queries in FI$CAL to obtain the encumbrance, expenditure, and reimbursement by project, fund, and grants information. This lengthy manual process causes excessive staff time to complete the process and also increases the likelihood of pulling the wrong information.
Enhancement/Solution
Created PC, customer contract, and grants management dashboard (Power BI). The dashboard includes the following page/reports: About, Overview, Contract/Grant Summary Report, Projects Summary by Program, Project Transactions Report and KK Project Detail Report.
