FI$CalTv has added a veteran state communications expert to its monthly webcast. Katie Rose joined the communications staff at the Department of FISCal (FI$Cal) on February 1 and brings more than nine years of government experience to the role of writer and social media Specialist for FI$Cal. Among Katie’s duties will be producing a segment for FI$CalTv titled, “Katie’s Corner” which will provide viewers with tidbits of valuable information about the FI$Cal system much like “Mark’s Minutes” did over previous years. Mark Melnicoe, producer of Mark’s Minutes, retired last year.
FI$CalTv is a monthly webcast where end users can connect with FI$Cal subject matter experts to help answer questions about specific topics and to provide valuable tips, tricks and information about FI$Cal.
“I know a lot of people are familiar with ‘Mark’s Minutes’ and I’m looking forward to taking on the role of the ‘new Mark’ on FI$CalTv,” Katie said, “I’ll be keeping my ear to the ground and letting everybody know what’s happening and what I’m learning as I move forward in my new position at FI$Cal.”
Katie has a background in writing and communications with extensive experience in the area of government communications. She brings expertise in building communications programs from the ground up, creating strategic communications plans, implementing accessible publications standards, and developing branding guidelines, social media and website content, and more.
