FI$Cal is celebrating the one year anniversary of the FI$Cal Learning Center (FLC). The FLC is a one-stop shop created to help users master the skills they need to become confident and successful in the FI$Cal system.
It was launched in February 2021 in response to customer requests for an improved learning experience. Users provided feedback through Imagine FI$Cal workshops, surveys and focus groups, asking for a system and materials that are up-to-date and easily accessible.
The FLC prepares new users, and ones that are more experienced, keeping them updated on changes and providing opportunities to refresh their skills. The most significant benefit of the center is the way it brings together learning materials from various places into a single location. This makes it easier for system users to understand and access all the content available to support them. Short, quick courses focus on a single topic – all in one location that is intuitive and easy to navigate. The FLC system is powerful and flexible, allowing us to add new material and use new and improved media.
Over the past year:
- 4,895 end users have used the FLC
- 76 virtual training sessions were delivered to 3,109 attendees through the FLC
The FLC currently has:
- 1,353 learning objects
- 56% of which have been updated in the past year
- 36% which are new
During the past year, voucher processing proved to be the most popular learning content provided with over 700 registrations.
Upcoming plans for the FLC include expanding the new learn-at-your-own-pace virtual training format to additional modules, after a successful pilot in with labor distribution, and a relaunch of our end user training certification program.
You can access the FLC at https://fiscal.ca.gov/user-support/fiscal-learning-center/. The center is limited to authorized users. Please log in using your FI$Cal credentials.
