The Information Technology Specialist (ITS) II is a lead application support specialist who handles complex system reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and application security for the Department of FISCal’s (FI$Cal) enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. In this role, the ITS II acts as a technical expert and guides the application support team in troubleshooting and resolving production application issues. The incumbent also works with other subject matter experts (SMEs), such as functional SMEs, information security specialists, database administrators, and network and server administrators to support the application. The ITS II ensures technical and functional alignment with the department’s business and technology goals. They document new system functions, processes, and data within the FI$Cal ERP system. The incumbent also provides ongoing solutions for operational needs and ensures the system meets business objectives while staying current with the latest technology trends and best practices. The duties for this position are focused in the software engineering domain; however, work may be assigned in the other domains as needed.

The Information Technology Specialist II (ITS II), serving as a database administrator in the Database Platform Services Section, independently handles complex tasks related to FI$Cal databases, associated tools, applications, and their interactions. The ITS II is responsible for developing, planning, and implementing all activities within the FI$Cal Database Platform Services Section. The incumbent designs, installs, configures, patches, upgrades, monitors, optimizes, backs up, recovers, maintains, and operates all FI$Cal system database services. Additionally, they oversee system monitoring to ensure optimal performance and reliability and conduct technical testing, including performance testing, disaster recovery testing, and accessibility testing, to support FI$Cal system integrity.
