June 12, 2020 – The Department of Finance will conduct Session II of its year-end training for FI$Cal departments over the next two weeks. In accordance with the latest COVID-19 guidelines from the California Department of Public Health, classes will be offered in an online format.
The training is for FI$Cal department staff who are responsible for preparing year-end financial reports. Each department is limited to four participants. Session II training will take place on June 17, June 19, June 22, June 24, and June 25. Please use the registration form on the Department of Finance website to sign up for one of those all-day classes.
The Session II class will cover preparation of year-end financial reports for governmental funds and non-governmental cost funds.
Before taking this class, all participants should complete the FI$Cal Year End Training Session I and/or review the “Year End Accrual Entries (YE-A)” on Finance’s FI$Cal Training website.
Classes will be held on Zoom, and will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Exercise materials will be sent to students via email. Follow the instructions, complete, and print the exercises before class. Send any questions regarding the exercises two days before class to Adam.Heath@dof.ca.gov. Include in the email the report number that the question pertains to and the class section you are in. Questions will be addressed in class.
