Purpose: Demonstrate how to register as a bidder in Cal eProcure.
Scenario: As a company, you wish to register in Cal eProcure. Use the Bidder Registration page to complete the process.
Roles: Public
Steps:
Click the Login/Register link.
Step 1Note: During Bidder registration, you may receive a message that FI$Cal already has your supplier record. If this is the case, you will need to complete the Supplier Registration process.
Step 2The Register as a Sourcing Bidder button will guide you to complete the Bidder Registration process. Completing registration will then designate you as a "Bidder" in the FI$Cal system, and allow you to submit electronic bid responses to State solicitations.
Step 3Begin by navigating to the Bidder Registration page.
Click the Register as a Sourcing Bidder button.
Step 4The Bidder Registration page is displayed and begins with Step 1: Preliminary information.
Use the following pages to populate your company information into the system in order to complete the Bidder registration process.
Step 5Notice that the Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) option is selected by default already.
Begin by entering your business' Federal Tax ID (FEIN) number in the Tax Identification Number field below.
Step 6Click in the Tax Identification Number field.
Step 7Enter the desired information into the Tax Identification Number field.
Enter "987456321".
Step 8Next, review question two. You may respond to this question using any of the options provided.
In this scenario you are interested in just Selling Goods/Services.
Step 9When you click the Next button, FI$Cal may prompt you with a notification that your supplier record already exists in their system. In this case you must contact the FI$Cal Service Center in order to complete your registration.
Step 10Click the Next button.
Step 11The Step 2: User Account Setup page displays.
Use this page to enter contact information for your company.
Note: It is possible to register more than one user for your company in addition to yourself.
Step 12Begin by entering your Company Name.
Click in the Company Name field.
Step 13Enter the desired information into the Company Name field.
Enter a valid value e.g. "Hernandez Construction".
Step 14Next, fill in all fields under the New User section that have an asterisk (*) in front of the description. These are required fields.
You may also enter information in any of the fields that do not have asterisks as well.
Step 15Click in the First Name field.
Step 16Enter the desired information into the First Name field.
Enter "Mark".
Step 17Click in the Last Name field.
Step 18Enter the desired information into the Last Name field.
Enter "Hernandez".
Step 19Click the Vertical Scrollbar.
Step 20Click in the Email ID field.
Step 21Enter the desired information into the Email ID field.
Enter "mhernandez@hernandezconstruction.com".
Step 22Click in the Office Number field.
Step 23Enter the desired information into the Office Number field.

Step 24In the User ID field, enter a login name which you will use to access FI$Cal once registration is complete.
Step 25Click in the User ID field.
Step 26Enter the desired information into the User ID field.

Step 28If additional users needed to be added for your business, you would click the Save and Add Another User button to begin entering contact information for that additional user.
In this scenario, no other users will be added at this time.
Step 29Click the Next button.
Step 30The Step 3: Primary Address page displays. Use this page to enter the primary physical address for your company.
Step 31Click in the Address 1 field.
Step 32Enter the desired information into the Address 1 field.
Enter "2000 Evergreen St".
Step 33Click in the City field.

Enter "Sacramento".

Step 41The Step 4: Other Account Addresses page displays.
Use this page to define any alternative addresses your company may use.
Step 42Notice that the address you provided on the previous page is now displayed in proper format.
Note: If you entered any information incorrectly, you can always use the < Back button at the bottom of the page to return to a previous page and correct any information.
Step 43If you wish to declare a Bill to Address, Ship to Address or Invoice Address that is different than your Primary Address, you may do so using the options in the Other Account Addresses section.
In this scenario, the Primary Address is the most appropriate address for billing, shipping and invoice statements.
Step 44Click the Next button.
Step 45The Step 5: Address Contacts page is displayed.
This page is used to designate users as the primary contact for each different address provided.
Step 46In this scenario, you have only entered one user and one address, therefore the defined user is the most appropriate contact at the listed address.
Step 47To assign a contact to a different address, use the dropdown arrow and select the correct address.
Step 48Click the Next button.
Step 49The Step 6: Other Business Details page is displayed.
This page is used for declaring the primary industry for your company, and also allows you to provide key words that relate to your business.
Step 50Select the industry that your company most closely identifies with.
Step 51Click the 1. Company Primary Industry list.
Step 52Click the Maintenance list item.
Step 53Next, provide keywords that will help FI$Cal find bids that are a best match for your company.
Note: Please enter at least 3 different keywords that define your business' products or services.

Step 63By default, the option to receive certification notifications and email notifications about bid opportunities is set to yes.
If you do not wish to receive email notifications about bidding opportunities or certifications, select the No option instead. You can also change your notification preferences at any time.
Step 64Click the Vertical Scrollbar.
Step 65Next, provide information as to where your company will provide service.
If your company provides service statewide override the selected option of No.
Step 66In this example Hernandez Construction only provides service in the Sacramento area.
If you need to view a listing of all the service areas you can click on the Download button.

Step 68Click in the Search field at the top of the Service Area ID list.

This page applies to manufacturers and is used to gather information to accurately define their business. Your responses below will be used when departments use the solicitation process and need to include bidder invitations.
If this information does not relate to your business, you may skip this step.
Step 74Click the Standard Industry Code look up button.
Step 75The list of all code values displays.
Use the search field at the top of the page to filter through the results and find the most appropriate codes for your business.
Step 76Click in the Quick Filter field.
Step 77Enter the desired information into the Select field.

To do so, use the Add Row button to look up an additional NAICS code.

Selecting specific UNSPSC categories will qualify you to receive notifications about those future events that match your interests. You are not obligated to select any options, but doing so will result in more invitations to bid on solicitation events.
Note: If the "Receive Notification" option was previously selected as "Yes", you will receive email notifications about bidding opportunities, based on the UNSPSC values entered.
Step 87Use the Search Title field to enter a description for the UNSPSC category you would like to add to your profile.
Step 88Click in the Search Title field.
Step 89Enter the desired information into the Search Title field.
Enter a valid value e.g. "heating".

Step 91Results display based on the description entered in the Search Title field. Use the +Add button to select the desired UNSPSC that you want to add to your profile.

Step 104At this point, it is still possible to use the << Back button to return to any of the nine pages in the registration process and correct any information, if needed.
If you are finished entering all information, use the Finish button to complete your application.
Step 105Click the Finish button.
Step 106After clicking the Finish button, an email will be sent containing your FI$Cal login credentials to the email address provided.
You can then use those credentials when accessing the FI$Cal site.
Step 107You could now navigate to your email to view the credentials that FI$Cal has generated for you, then use the Sign In button here to log into FI$Cal as your company.
